I am the proud daughter of Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
Proud because of the unparalleled example he set for humanity.
He inspired every man to be a king
and every woman to be a queen
by recognizing inherent human dignity.
He tells his father to sacrifice himself for others’ beliefs and rights.
He tied a final bow on the gift of Sikhi, the identity,
To be the lighthouse so that anyone seeking help can have an advocate, a protector.
His beautiful poetry is filled with gratitude, greatness, and deep love for the Creator.
No one was a match for his athleticism and leadership, deeming him a great warrior.
Yet his humbleness moves me to tears
as he asks the Five Beloved to bless him with khande dhi pauhul.
I am short of words to tell you the love, inspiration, and strength my father has given me.
I am the proud daughter of Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
