My Beji

by Ravpreet Singh

Growing up, my parents would often take us to ‘nanke’ to spend the winter months there. I remember my Beji (naniji) who was always busy with household choir, never complaining the fact she had to cook, clean, and take care of the whole house and yet, still had time for us kids. She has been a big inspiration in my life.

In my design years, I had taken a picture of her and did a small banner which I am sharing with you. I can totally relate her to Mata Gujri ji, whose stories I fondly tell my kids at bedtime. She was a strong Shero who gave strength to Chote Sahibzade. I often feel the presence of Mata Gujri in my Beji. She has given me strength many times and is my Shero!
