Job Description:

Kaur Life is looking to hire a social media manager with outstanding skills to uplift and share Kaur Life articles across its platforms: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Mailchimp, and Pinterest. The social media manager is expected to possess fantastic organizational and interpersonal skills in order to create social media plans for increasing the reception, circulation, and readership of Kaur Life. To ensure success, social media managers should demonstrate a superb command of English with a keen interest in shaping Kaur Life to distinguish its content to its target audience of multilingual speakers. As part of the Kaur Life team, the social media manager would work with the editor of Kaur Life.

Notes:

This is a one year, contract position starting January 2024 and ending in January 2025. Position may be extended based on available funds and job performance.

This is a remote position that requires an internet connection. 

You will be working with one or two other people, who will also be remote.

This is a position that requires initiative and self-direction.

Must be legally authorized to work in the USA.

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Mailchimp, and Pinterest
  • Develop social media marketing plan and calendar (in conjunction with article pipeline/editorial calendar)
  • Create and post content that drives website traffic
  • Monitor post performance and adjust plans, schedule, language, and graphics accordingly 
  • Develop campaigns that engage users, increase engagement, and increase audience.
  • Interact with comments/communications with audience relevant media (ie: Video/Reels) 
  • identifying audiences and curating audience-specific content?

Requirements: 

  • Competency with multiple social media platforms and awareness of how to share content across different platforms
  • In addition to English fluency, an ideal candidate would have workable skills to either read or write in Gurmukhi and/or Punjabi in order to reach our target audience
  • Proficiency with graphic design programs such as Capcut, Canva, Illustrator, and Photoshop
  • Understanding of graphic design and marketing principles

Hours: 

  • Be able to commit 20 hours/week towards this position

Salary: 

  • 20 hours/week = $23,000/year
